More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I love listening to and playing music (I used to be a DJ and I still have my turntables - thats right, old school), spending time with the people I care about, traveling to my favorite spots and finding / exploring new ones, activities with my kids (going to the beach, hiking, the zoo, etc).

I typically spend my leisure time

Socializing - going out to have drinks, dancing, etc., activities with my children (going to the beach, hiking, the zoo, etc.), exercising (running, mountain biking, kayaking)

The most influential person in my life has been

Hard to narrow it down to just one quality. Kindness. Selfless. Caring. Humorous. Common sense. Open to new experiences. To give and accept affection. Confident. Sexy. And last, but not least, being patient and confident enough to communicate with me regardless of the situation

The first thing people notice about me

My sense of humor. I consider myself easy to talk to and am able to find humor in everyday things.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Road, by Cormac McCarthy. The book is basically about a post-apocalyptic future in which a father and son embark on a journey to find a better, safer place to live. It was a very bleak book but what stuck with me the most was the relationship between the father and son. The father was willing to go to any lengths to protect his son, and his love for him is what kept their hope alive despite their reality. The whole 'love' is enough idea.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My children - spending time with them, being involved in their daily lives and that they always bring out the best in me.
  2. My family and friends - for keeping me laughing, helping me when I need them (even if I don't ask) and for always being there for me, regardless of the situation.
  3. Knowing that everyday I have a choice to do things that are worthwhile and important - that I can change the things in my life that I am unhappy with for the better.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I am extremely confident and am not afraid to pursue something I want.

Friends Describe me as

Dependable, Funny, Genuine, Kind

A little more about me

Like most people, I have had many jobs. I am a police officer and previous to that I was a paramedic. The experiences I have gone through have led me to several simple truths...life is short, the most important thing I can do is raise my children well, and that you should be with the people you care about and love as much as possible, and that my actions are more important (and defining of who I am) than anything I could say.
