The one thing I am passionate about...
Hey, thanks for reading my profile!I'm passionate to learn what makes others tick, my family, doing a good job, music, and learning about new and unusual things. I also really enjoy working to be a positive force in others' lives.
I typically spend my leisure time
-I love to read about international affairs, history, or anything that is a little unusual. -My vice is a well stocked Half Price Books. -I enjoy learning. Currently, I'm a 'fake student' at OSU: taking various classes while working full time, and I have a goal of earning at least a Masters degree in Sociology or Psychology.-I love music, sing in the Columbus Symphony Orchestra Chorus and play all sorts of percussion instruments. -I also fancy myself a mountain biker, although I slacked off this past summer. -I dabble in foreign languages, but I'm no linguist.-I think it would be fun to learn to salsa dance.
The most influential person in my life has been
I get enjoyment from watching others succeed and pursue what they're passionate about. If I can find someone who has that twinkle in her eye when she's thinking about/doing what she loves to do, I'm set. :) It's also nice when she has the same appreciation for my passions and inspires me to do my best and think outside the box.I'm going to cheat on this question and say that authenticity is a prerequisite. I'm a trusting person so this characteristic goes a long way with me.
The first thing people notice about me
I'm an easy going guy and don't really like to talk myself up. Not that I'm a Spongebob who sits on his keister all day, far from it. I'm just more interested in learning about others.I'm squared away and have a great job. (there I go talking myself up...)
The last book I read and enjoyed
I read a lot and my bookshelf is pretty eclectic. The last book I read was called Thinkertoys, but that was for work so it's not really fair. I read consistently for work, even on my off time. Before that, I got halfway through a book about Abe Lincoln's personal secretaries before I had to return it to the library. It was interesting to learn how he interacted with people who were close to him.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My family, life path and job (ok I cheated).
- Music and the arts.
- That I live in the United States.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
People sometimes mistake my even-keeled nature as overly serious. Get to know me, however, and you'll see I'm a good natured, funny guy.
