More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am passionate about my faith and sharing it with the world and the community that comes with that. I love being active and outdoors (be it backpacking miles from civilization or just eating outside) but more in the peaceful enjoyment way and not necessarily extreme sports or activities

I typically spend my leisure time

Exploring new places either by traveling or outdoor adventure, and getting together with a few good friends to share life and good times with. I am buried with work in my new venture, but realize the importance of relational and community balance.

The most influential person in my life has been

I always tell my buddies that all I need to start a relationship is a girl who loves Jesus and that I'm physically attracted to. Other things I know are probably important is a willingness and desire to go deep mentally and emotionally, challenging me, a desire to squeeze the most out of this short life (although that can mean giving back at times to the point of getting squeezed yourself), sharing my love for the outdoors and desire for adventure. Women who want the white picket fence, 2.5 kids, suburban house, lease on a late model Lexus and time share in the mountains should probably keep looking

The first thing people notice about me

I strive for quality over quantity with my words. This also lends itself to being a good listener

The last book I read and enjoyed

'The Gift of Good Land' by Wendell Berry. This book makes me think about causes and effects of the seemingly simple and easy choices we make evey day.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My God, My faith is everything to me, and I know I wouldn't be anything without God's blessing, provision, purpose, and the hope and security I have in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  2. My family; I grew up very close to my immediate and extended family and would love the same for my future family. My parents constatly set the example for a healthy marrage.
  3. My friends; I strive to have fewer, deeper relationships as opposed to many, more shallow ones. I have been blessed with many close lifelong friends to whom I wouldn't be half the man I am without.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

The depth and complexity of character and passion I hold below a calm and simple surface.

Friends Describe me as

Easy-Going, Good listener, Intelligent, Spiritual

A little more about me

I was born and raised in East Tennessee and consider myself a southern man by most standards. I have just moved back to the area after 10 years of college and a short career as a Marine Corps Officer. I have traded the office for 25 acres of family land in the prettiest place I've ever lived. I am working hard to turn it into a full working apple and berry farm. It's good to be home!
