More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I love to educate myself politically; if I didn't, I would feel as if I was doing my country/state/county a disservice. I love to exercise and I put much energy into making healthy eating/lifestyle choices. I have many animals (cats, dogs, horses, goats, chickens) and I love taking care of them, but it wouldn't break my heart not to have animals. Education is extremely important to me - I pour myself into my classes and seek to educate myself outside of the classroom as well; I pride myself on my 4.0. I am very social and love being around people, especially in intimate gatherings of friends.

I typically spend my leisure time

I feel like any time spent learning is time well spent. If I could afford to be a student indefinitely, I would. I like to watch the news to educate myself, but it's not on 24/7. One of the most rewarding things I do is working with/training my horses. It is a wonderful feeling to connect with an animal and achieve a goal or learn something new. I enjoy tutoring other students for the same reason; teaching and passing on knowledge is one of the greatest gifts that can be given to another individual, in my opinion.

The most influential person in my life has been

More than anything, I value honesty and loyalty, whether it is in a friend, family member, or significant other. If the truth is delivered to me right off the bat, I will appreciate that more than anything. However, there is no better way to hurt me than to hide the truth or force me to figure it out myself.

The first thing people notice about me

The compliment that I have received most from family, friends, employers, coworkers, classmates, you name it - is that I am very, very smart. I appreciate the compliments, but I attribute it to my work ethic and believe that there is no limit to anyone's intelligence as long as they work hard to further their education. People also notice that I am quick to open up, quick to help, and quick to sacrifice for my friends - I'm a "giver" by nature.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton. A novel of manners set in NYC during the Gilded Age, The House of Mirth presents a satirical view of the wealthy New York society and ridicules the vanity and opulence of the life styles of those in the exclusive social circle. It shows just how much appearances can mean to people and how easily that obsession can lead to their personal (emotional, spiritual, physical, social, or otherwise) destruction. It's a very enlightening read on society and many of the principles illustrated can still be applied today.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I'm thankful for the education that was given to me by my mother, because it has benefited me in countless ways and has opened so many doors for me. Even though I didn't recognize it while I was homeschooled, it is one of the best things that could have happened to me.
  2. I'm thankful for the work ethic that my immediate and extended family taught me. Being hardworking is one of my core values and has benefited me academically as well as professionally, and has earned the respect of many people around me. There is nothing that can compare to a strong work ethic, in my opinion.
  3. I'm thankful for the country in which I live. My immediate and extended family has an extremely strong military background, as well as many of my friends, and I have learned first-hand the sacrifices that are made for this country and her citizens. There are few things more beautiful than a soldier's complete devotion to his country's freedom and his willingness to ensure that people like me stay free and safe from harm.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I wish people would notice how easily I attach to people and how easily I am hurt by inconsiderate things (gossip, etc), even though I try my hardest not to let this show. I would do absolutely anything for my friends because I value them so highly as friends and as individuals, and I don't think most people realize this.

Friends Describe me as

Affectionate, Dependable, Good listener, Hard Working
