The one thing I am passionate about...
I love music, especially country. Music is the perfect means to express your feelings and thoughts when 'words' are hard to find or say. But, I do become 'passionate' about political & social causes/issues, as well. I have no problem speaking up for those who cannot do so for themselves. I've been called a 'patient' advocate a time or two, as well; mainly because I'm a registered nurse and I feel the patients voice is often left unheard.
I typically spend my leisure time
I dabble in the garden; research my family tree; do some scrapbooking; rescue baby squirrels; attend my niece & nephews ballgames; would love to learn how to use a bow and arrow; love playing with my 2 baby grandsons :) and now that 1 is old enough ...love taking him to movies (excuse for me to see the kid stuff...lol)
The most influential person in my life has been
The ability to be completely honesty. I don't like the mind games and manipulation that can clutter up a good relationship.
The first thing people notice about me
Well, they'll hear me around the corner before they see me! I can be a bit quirky and do not possess a library voice. I enjoy talking & laughing with others because conversation with the right person can be very stimulating. I've been told that I could never meet a stranger. I have had the pleasure, in my life, of meeting some awesome people...all while "running my mouth" (what my daddy used to call it).
The last book I read and enjoyed
I am not one to sit and read. I'm just not a huge book reader, but there have been a few books that I have felt compelled to read. One for instance is ' The Last Lecture', by Professor Randy Pausch. It moved me and made me realize how short and precious life can be. He savored every day with his children and kept such a positive outlook, all while knowing he was dealing with terminal cancer.**New**I love the "Audible" app...now I can listen to books. So far, The Notebook ?. Then one by Herman Cain and a couple from Ben Carson.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- Knowing that God is always there to guide me thru life.
- The love and support of my family and friends.
- Being able to speak out for what I believe in, USA
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
Behind my adult exterior, is a soft sentimental, even silly side. I don't think your age should define you...age is just a number (^_^)
