More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

There isn't just one thing: I am passionate about my family; contributing in some way to the world around us; and the oceans and preserving the life in them.

I typically spend my leisure time

When it is Mom-and-girls time we go to bookstores, movies, maybe a salon, and we traveI. We all love Chicago and New York, but also recently camped and hiked Mammoth Cave. I'm a scuba diver, and was an instructor for a while, and I do love diving. I can see live theater just about anytime, as well as listen to (and play a little) Irish music. I also enjoy being outdoors, but not hard-core hiking or climbing. I love being on and around the water on my boat, as well as skating -- ice and blades. I listen to NPR on my way to/from work to hear the day's news.

The most influential person in my life has been

Emotional health -- that he is a happy, personally secure, and well-balanced individual.

The first thing people notice about me

That the opinion I gave that made them notice me was a good one . :-)

The last book I read and enjoyed

George Mitchell's, "Making Peace," about achieving the Irish peace accords. It was a pragmatic story-telling of a complex topic that has applicability today in many places in the world, particularly with regard to timing and having the right people at the table. (I also read a few "vacation novel" type books in the mystery genre, but they were pretty easy to forget.)

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My three daughters.
  2. My large, supportive, immediate and extended family (all ~75 of them!).
  3. My health.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I'm actually pretty reflective.

Friends Describe me as

Genuine, Intelligent, Kind, Loyal

A little more about me

That I have elementary-aged children, so my daily life is much different than most other women my age, and I need a match to value that.
