The one thing I am passionate about...
As with most people I love good food, friends and family. However, the one constant in my life that has carried me through good times and bad is my love of music. Rock, pop, blues, country, jazz, etc. - I love it all. There is nothing more fun than pulling out an LP (yes, I still play vinyl), dropping it on the turntable and dancing like no one is watching. Being a child of the sixties and seventies, if it has a good beat and I can dance to it - I do.
I typically spend my leisure time
I read, watch movies that make me think, shop for old records that I used to own and exercise. I also very much enjoy just sitting on the patio, having a glass of red wine, talking about life, love or anything that is on your mind.
The most influential person in my life has been
The most important...hmmm...I guess I would have to say the ability to be present. I believe that you can understand a lot more about a person by making a committment to be "there" - you make discoveries by hearing their story, watching their eyes, sensing their emotion, and seeing body language. Much of who we really are is conveyed by more than what we deliver verbally. I want someone willing to make that investment.
The first thing people notice about me
The last book I read and enjoyed
Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. It was about life's journey, choices, love, good food and wine. All of which I am passionate about. I am currently reading Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer. It is about an Mt. Everest climb that ultimately took the lives of several people.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My education
- My ability to persevere
- A challenging job.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That I am intelligent. That while I am sometimes quiet, underneath it all I am thinking alot about what is being said - and I will be adding my two cents worth soon :-)
Friends Describe me as
Genuine, Intelligent, Sweet, Warm
A little more about me
That I am someone who continues to learn things about myself. I find that even at 52, I am still a work in progress and am committed to being the best that I can be. That I am not perfect but recognize that you aren't either. That I still am trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up.
