More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm most passionate about enjoying simple pleasures and things that make me happy -- music and the arts, travel, good books, and new experiences to learn and broaden my horizons. My favorite types of music are rock, rhythm and blues and alternative but I can enjoy just about anything. I love to write, especially poetry, and share my poems with friends. I enjoy traveling, seeing new places, whether it's down the highway or across the ocean.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love to cook and invite friends over for dinner and special occasions. I also like to garden, both vegetables and ornamental plants. I enjoy the arts and live performances, too. And, of course, listen to music. I exercise daily and enjoy designing new aerobics routines to new music playlists.

The most influential person in my life has been

A zest for life; one who appreciates the wondrous world in which we live and loves to explore and learn.

The first thing people notice about me

My laughter and enthusiasm

The last book I read and enjoyed

The last book I read was actually a re-read. I love to re-visit my books. It's "I, Elizabeth" by Rosalind Miles. The book is well-researched historical fiction about the adult life of Elizabeth I, who is an historical figure I most admire. I'm a big fan of this genre, my other favorite author being Margaret George (especially her "The Autobiography of Henry VIII.")My last new read was "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova. It's a fascinating tale of a young woman who finds herself embroiled in a family mystery linking her ancestry to that of Vlad the Impaler. It's very suspenseful and well-written.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My son
  2. Friends and other family
  3. My talents and abilities

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Hmmm, I'm not sure. I'm pretty open. I guess I'd say that I'm a deep thinker but that wouldn't be easy to notice right away, would it?

Friends Describe me as

Funny, Intelligent, Loyal, Thoughtful
