The one thing I am passionate about...
I am passionately curious about the world around me. I love adventures big and small, especially those that get me off the beaten track either physically or intellectually. In practice this translates to a love of travel, reading, talking and self reflection. It's a big world out there!
I typically spend my leisure time
Learning to belly dance, traveling when I can, reading, skiing, yoga, puttering around the house and yard, playing outside with my dog, BBQ'ing with friends, can I admit to be a knitting geek too or is that scary?
The most influential person in my life has been
I am hoping to find a friendship that catches fire, a physical and intellectual spark. A partnership between two people who have happy and full lives right now. Something a little silly, a little serious, a little sexy and ultimately something that feels like home.
The first thing people notice about me
Frequently people tell me I look like someone they know. Other than my uncanny resemblance to the friends and family of strangers, the first thing most people notice about me is that I don't take myself too seriously and I have an irreverent outlook on life. That is not to say I'm not serious when the situation requires, but I much prefer to laugh at the absurdity of life and make others laugh along with me.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I read way to much to keep this current but I love a good mystery novel and off-beat micro-histories.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My relationship with my family
- My education
- My good health
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I say what I mean and I assume that other people do as well. I'm not big on hidden agendas. Hidden treasure though is another matter : )
Friends Describe me as
Articulate, Funny, Genuine, Intelligent
A little more about me
I'm straight forward and honest and deeply goofy. Im an engineer by profession, a smart-aleck by habit and independent by nature. xkcd and David Sedaris crack me up. I like non-fiction, dive bars, bluegrass and zombie movies. I sing silly, made-up nonsense songs to my dog when nobody is around to hear. I like to do my own thing and think everyone else should be able to as well. I believe the public library is the greatest achievement of western civilization. I love going barefoot and a good non-sequitur.
