More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

1. Helping empower people to dispell negative thinking, shame, and lies about themselves as they discover how head over heals in love with them God is. 2. Discovering new understandings about the people I meet, the places I travel to(cultures), and the things I am introduced to. 3.Playing with, laughing and just getting to know my 2 yr.old and 8 month old grandaughters. 4. Coming up with new creative and decorative projects at home and for others. 5. Getting out on or near the water in some way (Boating, beachcombing, etc.) 6. Communication and intimacy, which includes sharing hopes, dreams, feelings, needs, longings and pain.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love to travel and discover new ways of seeing the world through the eyes of other people and languages and cultures. I find I see God and His beautiful creativity better this way. When I don't have as much time, I enjoy reading historical fiction, working on a craft project, taking a walk with my dog, going to a movie with a friend, taking a class to learn something new, having dinner with friends and family, or going to the gym.

The most influential person in my life has been

Trustworthiness, which includes an ability to share truthfully and intimately, as well as being real. A good sense of humor is also wonderful.

The first thing people notice about me

My acceptance and caring heart.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Three Cups of Tea-by Greg Mortensen This book was about a mountainclimber whose passion for climbing was changed to a passion for setting up schools in Pakistan which included the poor and girls. I liked the fact that it gave me a window into that part of the world and its historical and current context from a firsthand experience. Very inspiring to see someone dedicate their life to improving the lives of others. THE SHACK is also one of my favorite books! Currently reading Brennan Manning's The Furious Longing of God

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Experiencing that I am unconditionally loved by God
  2. My children, grandchildren, family and friends
  3. My health, and consequently my ability to live fully each day, aware, curious and enjoying new experiences.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

How multi-faceted and how many interesting people I have met, places I have gone, and experiences I have had that humbly help to make me the person I am today.

Friends Describe me as

Funny, Good listener, Loyal, Spiritual

A little more about me

I have been told I have a good sense of humor. I try to not take myself so seriously and enjoy life one day at a time.
