More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm very passionate about music. To me it's about listening to talented people taking you way beyond yourself or simply giving an accurate (albeit not always happy) description of life. It's also about transporting you back to another era in time and seeing what life was like back then. Another big interest is classic cars - I absolutely love my old Ford Fairlane. Car shows are so cool and most of the people at them are really intersting folks. And cruising out to the country is my version of going to church.

I typically spend my leisure time

Listening to music is my number one past time. My number two is cooking - nothing too exotic but I like to try new things. And combining the two of those together is just awesome. I also like to write and draw. I'm a fan of the lazy Saturday breakfast complete with generous helpings of cholesteral, caffine, and car/train mags. Enjoy slow walks, be it around the neighborhood or at the local forest preserve - great way to clear the head and get in touch with a deeper spirituality.

The most influential person in my life has been

A sweetness, a kind person with a sense of humor and an inner strength.

The first thing people notice about me

My eyes, I've been told that I've got beautiful blue eyes by many people, aside from my funny looking nose, and my hats - I'm a sucker for vintage hats.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The last good book I read was over this past summer - Doo Wop; The Music, The Times, The Era by Bruce Marrow. I've always wanted to learn more about that genre of music and this was a really great book, loaded with pictures, and lots of information about the whole beginning and, sadly, the end of that particular era.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Those who I know or have known who've been kind and contributed so much to my life.
  2. My parents for all they've given and taught me over the years.
  3. My health.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I'm a very passionate person, I love very deeply.

Friends Describe me as

A little more about me

I'm looking for a kindred spirit, friend, and soulmate. Someone who's a tomboy, who's assertive and has a down to earth, blue jeans and sneakers attitude towards life and knows the value of a trust between two people (and how rare that truly is). Someone who grew up in the same era I did and remembers watching the Lawrence Welk show with parents, Benny Hill, and reruns of the Honeymooners. Someone who's affectionate and understanding, who'd put her arms around me when I'm feeling down, I offer my arms to you and will listen when you've had a bad day. Basically I want to fall in love with a friend and spend the rest of my life with her.

Music I like to perform

Folk and Traditional
