The one thing I am passionate about...
I'm passionate about Jesus and continuously growing my relationship in and with Him. I have my degree in youth ministries so it's only natural that I'm passionate about working w/teens- counseling, event planing, teaching, games, you name it. My other passion is leading worship. I was singing before I was talking. I spent two years in Britian as a youth worker so I'd have to say missions and traveling are also pretty high up there. :)
I typically spend my leisure time
I enjoy spending time with the teens I work with. They are funny, honest, and completely unpredictable. I enjoy singing, guitar, piano-pretty much anything music related. Jam sessions are always fun. I love to write, esp drama scripts and lyrics. I enjoy reading a good book, watching a movie, playing games or just spending time in good conversation with friends. Taking walks helps me to unwind and going to the beach at night is so relaxing. I also love working at camp! Nothing like kayaking, soccer and camp fires :)
The most influential person in my life has been
Someone who is passionate about the Lord- no one is perfect, we all make mistakes. But if He is seeking after God with his whole heart, He'll also be seeking after the heart of God. After that, it's honesty, compassion, and respect. I want a man who knows how to treat me with integrity. I want someone who's real, fun, and knows when to be a goof ball and when to be serious- cause I'm a very serious goof ball :)
The first thing people notice about me
that I'm usually smiling, but that I wear my emotions on my sleeve when I'm upset- but i guess that's still appearance! hmmm... people tell me they feel like they can immedeatly trust me, which they can :)
The last book I read and enjoyed
Messy Spirituality- my third read through actually. All about God's love for all us messy, unperfect, doing our best to love God people. It's full of reminders of God's grace, his love, his understanding and patience and reminds me again that it's ok to make mistakes and I don't have to be perfect to be loved and used by Him. AND because I usually have a couple books going at once, I also just finished reading Brisinger (part of the Eragon series- very LOTR-like goodness!)
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My relationship with the Lord and His awesome grace and love for me
- The friends that I have been blessed with
- My family
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
my heart. My huge, sensitive, tender, heart and that I'm older than I look. I often get mistaken for being one of the teens instead of one of the leaders. I guess it'll be a great thing when I'm 50 though.
Friends Describe me as
Affectionate, Funny, Good listener, Spiritual
A little more about me
I want to dream big and follow my passions, wherever God leads me and I'm praying for someone who's heading in the same direction. I'm also a Red Sox fan. ;) - FYI, I'll be out of the country next week for 10 days so I apologize for slow responses!
