More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

My son is what I am most passionate about. I love being his mother and I am enjoying watching him become a young man. Being able to raise him has been an amazing gift, and one I am so thankful for....except for when he rolls his eyes or leaves dirty socks in the living room. I am also passionate about children with special needs. I have spent the majority of my adult life working with these children and am going to college to further that work. There are no words that adequately describe how much joy and personal satisfaction I get from my work. It is what I was meant to do.

I typically spend my leisure time

As a single mom with two jobs and full time college, leisure time is when I sleep!! That being said, when I do get some time to myself I tend to be a homebody (mostly because I am gone at work so much). I love to cook for my family and friends, so hanging out at home is a real pleasure for me. I like to read when I can, and I study a lot. When I do get out, I love to shop (what girl doesn't, right?)and go out to dinner and a movie. I love a good road trip, and try to squeeze at least one in each summer.

The most influential person in my life has been

One quality....hmmm. A good sense of humor. I think if you can laugh at yourself and at all the crazy things come your way, then you will live a good life.

The first thing people notice about me

Gosh, I don't know. I've never asked anyone that question.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Three Cups of Tea. It was about a man who started schools in Pakistan. He got lost when he was hiking and was taken in by these villagers. He promised to build them a school to repay them for their hospitality, but they didn't belive he actually would. It took enormous amounts of time and effort, but he did it. He then went on to build many more schools for the rural villages in the hills of Pakistan. The generosity of spirit that he has humbled me. I kept thinking "So, what I am I going to do with my life?" I am still working on that, but I really enjoyed the book.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My son, because he is what keeps me going when life feels overwhelming.
  2. My work, because it fulfills me.
  3. My friends, because they keep me grounded.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I don't know.....my criminal record?? :) Wait, I don't want people to notice that!!!

Friends Describe me as

Funny, Hard Working, Intelligent, Outgoing
