The one thing I am passionate about...
I'm passionate about expanding/growing/exploring new things/places/ideas. I like to explore new things, like an idea I hear, or a current event, or a new song by a band I had not heard before and want to hear more of. I'm especially passionate about music.I often find myself appreciating or being passionate about really simple things...a chapter in a book, a fantastic meal, getting something done that I said I would, a song or even a certain part of a song.I love good writing also. I also really appreciate good hot sauce and great coffee. I collect vinyl records and first edition/antique books of my favorites.
I typically spend my leisure time
I like exploring things in the city - walking around and finding new things. I also like to travel; for vacation, and a lot to visit family/friends scattered throughout the nation. I also love wilderness hiking/backpacking.I love a good restaurant and I'll rarely say no to sushi.I like to read and I love crossword puzzles. I also exercise a lot. Its something I enjoy, but more importantly I am happiest when doing it regularly and often, in that it energizes me and makes the other parts of my life better.Watching TV and napping are terrible answers, but hey, balance is important.
The most influential person in my life has been
Someone who appreciates balance in life. Someone with an even keel who knows how to make me laugh and laugh with me.
The first thing people notice about me
Usually that I'm easy to talk to.
The last book I read and enjoyed
Tortilla Flat, John Steinbeck. I'm a big Steinbeck fan and I had not yet read this. What I like most about it is that while it is a tragedy in the most technical sense of the word, its world is painted in a very happy-go-lucky way, much like Cannery Row (which wasn't a tragedy). Though really I like any Steinbeck...he creates fascinating and detailed worlds and characters and makes you care about those characters. They are very real people.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- A supportive family and a large group of friends nation wide.
- A career that has kept me stable and has given me access to many choices in my life.
- Living in different cities throughout the country which has allowed me to meet different people and see many perspectives on life.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I'm not sure. I'm not totally immune to wanting people to think well of me (I'm as human as anyone else), but it's been a while since I really felt the urge for someone to notice something in particular about me or worry that much about it.
Friends Describe me as
Easy-Going, Funny, Good listener, Physically Fit
A little more about me
I am a fairly independent person. I enjoy spending time with others, but I also enjoy time to myself. I am looking for someone to explore with, travel with, and even do every day things like lounging around and watching TV, but I also would like someone who isn't afraid to have her own thing going on and have her own independent life also. That doesn't mean that I don't want to spend time together, just a little bit of space for myself. The kids question, I am a Maybe, but eHarmony will only match Maybes (what's the plural of Maybe?) with Yes and Maybe, so I switch it to No every once in a while to see those matches, but I'm a Maybe.
