More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I like getting out in nature. Anything dealing with water - from a river to the ocean- truly brings a smile. I like going thru the effort and work of kayaking, hiking or biking over making it easy on myself (although I really enjoy taking the motorcycle to work). I take my dog out running on a trail or hiking as much as possible. I like to experience other cultures and want to visit many different places in the world. I want to raise a family. Life is about much more than oneself.

I typically spend my leisure time

walking/ running with my dog in the woods/ on the beach, etc., cooking; all too rarely doing anything with my family-sister, neice, parents, - I enjoy experiencing nature, either running in a rainstorm or watching it from the couch with all the lights off.

The most influential person in my life has been

optimistic- desire to explore and find their place in the world; physically able to go hiking, kayaking, or biking; interested in going to a museum from time to time.

The first thing people notice about me

i come across as a little arrogant. If you can get past that, you will find that I am that way because I have high expectations of myself, and feel that if someone else doesn't at least rely on themselves and not others, I cannot rely on them.

The last book I read and enjoyed

'Guns, Germs and Steel"- an historical sociological study, about how certain cultures came to dominate others over the course of human history. Very good, and the answer is relatively simple, although there is a lot to go through to get there (kind of like life...shove me in the shallow water!)

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. the world around us
  2. my family
  3. my dog

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Other than those i care about, I am not too concerned what other people think about me (as I said- arrogant), however, I have high expectations for myself because I see my role in life as an active one, not a passive one. There are many things in life that I want to experience, and I don't see this abating any time soon
