More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am passionate about my family, especially my nieces. I am a native Omahan living in Houston (for the past 10 years) and I have ties to both cities.

I typically spend my leisure time

I enjoy all manner of outdoor activities. Sporting events, art shows, festivals, concerts and theater performances at both outdoor venues and theater halls. I also enjoy staying in to try a new recipe, watch a movie, or read a good book. I spend time practicing yoga, running and I recently got back into weight lifting.

The most influential person in my life has been

I am looking for someone who is self aware. I appreciate a man who can articulate the hows/whys of his life. Self awareness breeds other positive qualities such as personal care, financial goals, overall health/wellness, relational strengths and weaknesses and a spiritual groundedness.

The first thing people notice about me

I'd like to think that others notice a certain sense of grace and someone who is well put together.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The Road by Cormac McCarthy; it is a post apocalyptic look at life through the eyes of a father navigating his way south with his young son expecting to find the ocean as it once was before the event that devastated the earth. It is a bold piece of fiction and the author broaches the issues of humanity, God, and love in a beautiful and sometimes horrific way. McCarthy is an amazing writer and can bring his readers in deep before the 2nd or 3rd chapters. The Road was an "I cannot put this down" kind of novel. I'm anxious to see how the big screen version, set to release in October, will measure up to the book.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Family
  2. Friendships
  3. Career

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

My boldness. I'm petite therefore I feel highly underestimated by those who see me but do not know me.

Friends Describe me as

Loyal, Perceptive, Physically Fit, Spiritual

A little more about me

I oscillate between going out and staying in. I am an active person but I am not a go, go, go all the time sort of girl. I need quiet time to read a book, soak in a bubble bath, engage in mindless time on the Internet among other introverted activities. With me, be prepared for a gradual start to things. I prefer, initially, getting together briefly for coffee, happy hour, a light meal, etc.
