More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Music, art, design, photography, food, wine, friends, family, nature (especially the ocean). I've always had a passion for travel, but haven't done nearly enough.

I typically spend my leisure time

Live music is like my church; I love going to concerts. I've been cooking a lot more lately. I love having a few friends over for dinner and trying out new recipes. I try to get out of the city for a hike or a long walk with the dog somewhere in nature at least once a week.

The most influential person in my life has been

Love and respect for life. If you start there, you're likely to love and respect yourself, the one you're with and the ones around you. The ability to laugh and make me laugh and to laugh at yourself and to laugh at me laughing at myself... also very key. I don't have a "type," but if I'm taller than you in heels, that can be a bit of a bummer.

The first thing people notice about me

Hmm... I'd like to think my intelligence. I'm pretty driven in a work setting and take on a lot of responsibility. But socially, I think it would depend on the situation.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I picked up An Object of Beauty by Steve Martin in the airport. It's about a girl working her way up in the gallery scene in New York in the late 90s and early 2000s. His writing continues to impress me and is not the slapstick you might expect from his comedic career. Before that was Juliet, Naked by Nick Hornsby in which a woman meets the elusive musician her boyfriend has been obsessed with. It both pokes fun at fandom and holds an understanding for it. A must for any music "nerd." Up next is Skippy Dies...

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Family, both blood and extended.
  2. To live in such a beautiful place with so much accessible.
  3. My sweet, sweet dog.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I have a feisty, funny side and I have a sweet, caring side... they don't always come out at the same time. But I think both are crucial to my character.

Friends Describe me as

Creative, Funny, Intelligent, Loyal

A little more about me

My mother is one of the sweetest, most giving women I've ever met; a people-loving chatterbox. My father inherited his reserved, dry wit from my English grandmother. I ended up somewhere in between. I don't believe there's such a thing as perfection. It's what makes life interesting. It would be wonderful to find someone to share my favorite things and to experience new ones with.
