More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I'm very passionate about music (listening/playing/collecting/writing/etc). I'm also passionate about traveling, preserving and enjoying the environment, friendships/relationships with people (especially family), animals, politics and world news/events, reading, baseball, computers, etc.

I typically spend my leisure time

I enjoy socializing with friends, playing/writing music, sometimes sitting down to read. If it's nice out I like to enjoy the weather by doing activities outside (sports, hiking, walking, going to the park, frisbee, swimming, etc). I enjoy watching movies, occasionally playing video games, going to see live music, and being spontaneous and open to friends' suggestions for what to do.

The most influential person in my life has been

Honesty. With themselves and the people they surround themselves with.

The first thing people notice about me

That I am a pretty reserved person, a wallflower perhaps. Well-mannered and soft-spoken. I keep to myself most times in social situations where I don't know many people and listen and learn. I don't generally open up to new people very quickly until I feel I can trust them.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I just started A New Earth (Awakening to Your Life's Purpose) by Eckhart Tolle. It's about ideas to show how transcending our ego-based state of consciousness is key to personal happiness.I recently finished The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. It was good, although very similar to his previous work--sort of predictable in that aspect.I also recently bought The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Murakami and Tropic Of Cancer by Henry Miller.I'm also working on the Harry Potter series.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My parents. They've been happily married for 30+ years and have always accepted and supported me for being me. They've also helped support me through higher education and life decisions.
  2. My health
  3. Art and general humanities and freedoms

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That just because I am sometimes shy and reserved doesn't mean I'm not confident, or that I can't hold an intelligent conversation.

Friends Describe me as

Dependable, Genuine, Modest, Optimistic

A little more about me

I know that people need to be happy with who they are and find happiness within themselves before they can truly love someone else. Bob Dylan wrote in his book, Chronicles, that one of the reasons he knew he loved his wife was because she didn't need to rely on him or anyone else to be happy, and I really do believe that.I'm picky, but at least I know what I want. Intellectual, classy individual. A lover, dreamer, someone who is genuinely humble. I'd prefer a woman who is petite, skinny, and/or athletic; not to offend others, but I keep myself fit and would like that in return.

Music I like to listen to

delta spirit, wilco, pela, the rural alberta advantage, brand new, delta spirit, counting crows, wilco, the format
