The one thing I am passionate about...
Not much makes me happier than working with children. Currently I am a substitute teacher and part-time nanny. I have been doing child care in one form or another practically all my life. Well...at least since I was old enough to babysit. :) They make you see the world differently and they have amazing horse-sense. You can't be anyone but yourself when you're with them. Working with them is completely fulfilling yet completely exhausting. They take your all, but they deserve that from us anyway. I'm also passionate about God, family and friends, a good belly laugh, great conversation, naps, chocolate, and a good book or movi
I typically spend my leisure time
You will most often catch me with my Kindle. (I think I'm addicted and may need to look into a program). I read whenever I have a spare moment, and I make sure to have those daily! I can't say that I read a lot of intellectually stimulating literature. I have to admit that I love a good romance. Give me a happy ending over realism any day. I am not completely anti-nonfiction, I also like books about my faith, an occasional autobiography, and cookbooks. I can also be found talking to a loved one, watching a movie, crocheting my Dad's afghan or taking the dog outside. I think she has the smallest bladder ever!
The most influential person in my life has been
I am looking for a man of faith. I believe the best marriages have God at the center. (I'm Catholic, btw, in case that makes a difference to you) I'm looking for a man with a sense of humor, comfortable in his own skin, values family, and would rather drive. I know that's silly, but I really do hate to drive. Anytime I can get out of it I will :) All goofiness aside, I know that personality plays a roll in how well people get along, but it's not the only thing. I think two people who are committed to each other, are willing to sacrifice or compromise when needed, and work for the other's good even when it sucks are the on
The first thing people notice about me
Not being able to read minds...I hope that what people first notice is my friendliness and good humor. .
The last book I read and enjoyed
I read all the time! But the last book that really stands out in my mind and one I couldn't stop talking about was Escape by Carolyn Jessop. A true account of a woman who escaped her forced polygamist marriage with all 8 of her kids. I read this book from cover to cover without stopping. I couldn't believe I stayed up all night to read a nonfiction, so I read two fluffy romances the next couple of days to make up for it! After I caught up on my sleep that is. ;-)
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My family and friends! I am a lucky gal to have so many wonderful people in my life!
- A good pair of shoes! Anybody on their feet all day know what I'm talking about! ;)
- Laughter. It really is the best medicine!
