The one thing I am passionate about...
I am most passionate about maintaining happiness in my life - and I seem to be doing a pretty good job! I truly believe that your life is what you make it. I absolutely love my job as an environmental educator and it's so rewarding being able to see the effect it has on my students.I also love to grow plants and collect as many weird and interesting ones as I can, haha. It's all about appreciating the little things in life.
I typically spend my leisure time
Whatever free time I have I usually try and make plans with friends to go out to eat or just hang out. I also read fantasy books (yes, that includes Harry Potter). And, this may be weird, but I truly enjoy watching other people play video games. I'm not great at war/gun/fighting games, but I do play racing games and even guitar hero/rock band. Although Kingdom Hearts on my DS is my current favorite.I watch stand-up and cartoons on t.v., crochet a million different things, but most of all I love just being able to wander around outside. Also, I am a huge Red Sox fan, and I love it when I get to make it to Boston with friends for a game.
The most influential person in my life has been
Optimism - I need someone who is happy with their life and is willing to share their life with me. I would like someone who can always make me laugh but can appreciate the quiet times too. Also, a Red Sox fan is a plus!!!
The first thing people notice about me
I am a confident and outgoing person, have a knack for socializing with new people, and am able to make and keep friends easily. So I guess that people would first notice my outgoing-ness. That and my teasing sense of humor. It's all in good fun ;-)
The last book I read and enjoyed
I guess the last book I read was the Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini, which is about Eragon (there was a really awful movie made based on the book a while ago). I think that this (very young) author does an amazing job at intertwining several plot lines in a coherent and entertaining way. In other words, I've blown through these books and am loving it. Books are a way for me to escape from reality. But I don't have a lot of free time to read as much as I'd like these days.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My family and our dynamic relationship over the years, and we are closer than ever these days because of it.
- My closest friends who taught me how to trust and love other people.
- I'm thankful for every experience I've had, every person I've met, and every challenge I've dealt with.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I am a raging biology nerd and love talking science but I wouldn't want to bore people when first meeting them so I stay away from the topic because once I start, I can't stop, (kinda like Pringles).
