More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

If I had to choose just one, it would easily be music. I write, play in a band, constantly listening and always looking for something new. I even have a passion for how it's engineered. To say I'm passionate about music could be an understatement!

I typically spend my leisure time

When I'm not working or doing music, I enjoy cooking or going out to eat. While I wouldn't call myself a "foodie," I do appreciate a finely cooked meal. Also, although not as frequent, I love to travel. I've resolved to travel out of the country to some place I've never been at least once a year. I'm always plotting which countries I want to go to next.

The most influential person in my life has been

I don't really value one quality over another, but I do appreciate sincerity in a relationship. And a good sense of humor definitely helps.

The first thing people notice about me

My smile, followed by an engaging yet unassuming attitude. I've been told that I see the best in people and all their potential, sometimes more than they want to see in themselves. Whatever I say is usually blunt and straight to the point.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I just finished "Holy Cow" by Sarah MacDonald. The book chronicles the experiences the author had when returning to India, a country she detested from a previous visit, in order to stay close to the man she loves. What I really enjoyed was how so many of her experiences resonated with my own travels there last year, especially of the subtle transformative effects on your perspective the culture has on you. Oh yeah, and a few moments show just how nuts it can be over there, too.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Family. Yes, yes - they got issues; but their love is endlessly deep has helped shaped me into who I am today. Knowing what they've gone through to get where they are, I don't take for granted what I have today.
  2. Music. Both in listening and creating it, music is such a catharsis to me. I truly love everything about it.
  3. Friends. They've enriched my life in countless ways, and I know my life would be so much more unfulfilled without them.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

As creative as I am, I don't feel it's immediately apparent. I should really make it more obvious, and maybe I'll do so by interrupting conversations mid-sentence by singing a random song.
