More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I love rock climbing, biking, and - thanks to a friendly sibling rivalry - have finally figured out what's so great about running. Indoors, I watch my TV on DVD & and am constantly sifting through new books. All of which is accompanied by a pretty sweet, carefully selected & broad-ranging soundtrack.

I typically spend my leisure time

see "passions" above. i love the outdoors and being active, but i also love curling up on the couch with a good book or dvd. i don't catch as much live music as i used to, but i have a long list of "best shows" i plan to keep adding to. almost none of my favorite bands get played on the radio, though several have cropped up unexpectedly in tv ads...

The most influential person in my life has been

you pretty much have to be game for letting a friendship evolve. so...patience?

The first thing people notice about me

That I'm not currently subscribing. So - if I haven't responded it's not that you don't sound like a *perfectly* lovely human being. and if i did, you decidedly do, and i just apologize for the conversational roadblock. by now you have also noticed that i sometimes run on when i type. anyway, if, a (reasonable) bit down the line, i sign back up, i'm sure i will let you know.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I usually have my nose in two or three at a time (which doesn't help me finish them). I've got a Dust Bowl thing going on at the moment: reading "The Worst Hard Time" by Timothy Egan (nonfic), "Geek Love" by Katherine Dunn (carnie folk fiction) and "The Mineral Palace" by Heidi Julavitz (displacement and reorientation in Depression-era-Colorado fiction).

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I am grateful for my close friends and family.
  2. I'm thankful for challenges and opportunities to grow.
  3. I'm thankful that i work for a company whose values match my own, at a job i love even when i don't.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

So. many. all-caps in this question. nothing leaps to mind...

Easy-Going, Funny, Good listener, Perceptive

A little more about me

honestly, i'd be just as happy to make some good friendships through this as anything, so if you're up for an occasional bike ride to the farmer's market or some ultimate frisbee, let me know.
