More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I tend to be most interested in activities that are intellectually or physically engaging. I enjoy stimulating conversation, learning, laughing, running, hiking with my dog, biking, seeing live music, watching documentary films, and outdoor dining (to name a few). I am also extremely interested in exploring other cultures and try to travel as much as possible. I recently went to Israel to visit a friend and am planning a trip to Malaysia in the fall.

I typically spend my leisure time

Well, I think I may have covered this in the "passions" section. How else would I choose to spend my time other than pursing things about which I'm passionate?

The most influential person in my life has been

What I'm looking for is quite simple, but it seems that the intangible feeling that two people fit well together can be quite elusive. I would like to meet someone who is clever, smart, mischievous (in a good way), and has an adventurous spirit, a person who has the ability to challenge me to think one moment, and laugh to the point of tears the next.

The first thing people notice about me

My ever-present smile and too-frequent laugh

The last book I read and enjoyed

I recently finished "The Learners" by Chip Kidd. It is difficult to explain, but it was absolutely fantastic! I also recently read "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen. It was a superbly fun read. I'm not sure if it changed my life, but I enjoyed every minute of it! Currently reading: Brief Interviews with Hideous Men (David Foster Wallace), Sync (Steven Strogatz), and the first Harry Potter

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My truly fantastic family who has always respected and supported me
  2. Amazing friends who continually enrich my life, teach me new things, help me to become a better person, and are always ready for an adventure!
  3. This may sound a bit odd but I'm very happy that I was born with an innate curiosity. This keeps me questioning the world and striving to seek new experiences , cultures, and adventures.
