The one thing I am passionate about...
I love roadtrips!! I have so many places I want to visit! I love my family and am very close to them. We both travel back and forth to see each other at least three times per year and we talk on the phone every day! I like outdoor activities ie: scuba diving, white water rafting, sight-seeing etc. Last, but not least, I am passionate about my faith. It is my core. I love my church family as much as I love my other family!
I typically spend my leisure time
I love to go to Borders and read. I also enjoy just getting in the car and going on a drive through the country. I love an impromptu BBQ with friends. I enjoy renting a couple of movies and just having a movie night (or day). Most generally, I like to do something fun on Friday night and/or Saturday and just relax on Sunday ie: go to church, go out to lunch, watch a movie, take a nap : )
The most influential person in my life has been
Loyalty. Someone, who, when life gets tough, won't "throw in the towel" and walk away, leaving me with the pieces to pick up. Once was enough.
The first thing people notice about me
My sense of humor! I have the ability to take a somber situation and (when appropriate, of course) lighten it up a bit!
The last book I read and enjoyed
"For Women Only" by Shaunti Feldhan. Excellent book!! It was an insight on how men think/feel/act. There was so much I didn't understand about the opposite sex. It's not just a "Cosmo" type book, either. The author is a christian and the book was very well-authored. A "must read" for every woman!
The three things which I am most thankful for
- Family. I am blessed with a WONDERFUL family! My mother and father have been married for 35 years and have been a great example of how to have a successful relationship. I have many beautiful memories from childhood thanks to them!
- My faith. I am saved by grace. There have been many times when there was only one set of footprints in the sand and I know who was carrying me. God has held my hand through so many events in my life. Without Him, I may not have fared as well as I did.
- My friends. I have some very established friendships from the past 15+ years. I am thankful for each and every one of my dear friends. They have laughed with me, cried with me (tears of joy and sorrow), and are precious to me, each in their own unique way.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
My ability to troubleshoot and problem solve. I feel like sometimes I have some valid and useful information that can be of some help. I often feel like my suggestions are overlooked or not taken seriously : (
Friends Describe me as
Funny, Happy, Spiritual, Sweet
A little more about me
Well, truthfully, I need for "him" to know that I have recently come out of a bad relationship and was very hurt by it, so I need to go a bit slower than usual. If he's ok with that then we are good to go!! : )
