More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I love old movies. I began watching them when I was a child with my granny and have never stopped. From Humphrey Bogart to Ginger Rogers, I reverence the Golden Age of Hollywood. Black and white really makes no nevermind to me.

I typically spend my leisure time

I enjoy cooking and baking, painting, and sewing. I'm learning how to play the guitar. I love going to movies, concerts, plays, and new restaurants. I love spending time with friends and staying up late having long conversations.I like taking long walks (and not just on the beach). I really enjoy watching baseball. I was raised by a die-hard Yankees fan and love rooting for the home team. It's just so fun! Oh, and I love a good roller coaster.

The most influential person in my life has been

Someone who makes me laugh, lets me be myself, and is striving to fulfill his life goals. That's one attractive man!

The first thing people notice about me

I once had an editor tell me I was "just so darn perky." Well, darn wasn't actually the adjective she used, but you get the picture. What can I say? I like being happy, and that's what people pick up on when they meet me.

The last book I read and enjoyed

For some reason, I have this affinity for darker literature. Not like creepy-dark, but the heavier classics (think "Crime and Punishment," "Lord of the Flies," "The Picture of Dorian Gray"). I just like 'em. Anyway, I recently read "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle," a retelling of Hamlet. But instead of things being fishy in Denmark, this tragedy played out among a family of dog breeders in rural Wisconsin. I know it sounds sketchy, but don't worry--it was a New York Times Bestseller.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I am most thanksful for my family. They are the greatest gift in my life and my biggest support.
  2. I'm very thankful for great friends. Life is just better when you're in good company.
  3. As cheesetastic as it might sound, I'm thankful for the way I was raised and the values I hold.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I wish people noticed my sense of humor right away. I like to see how people will react to my witty (and sometimes, sarcastic) comments before I share all of them. Once I feel comfortable with a person, though, I love to spend my time laughing.
