More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am passionate about the work that I do (doing outreach for grass-roots organizations) and the friends that I have. I spent a lot of time exploring, living other places all in the hopes of finding something I'm passionate about. To finally have that knowledge is amazing.

I typically spend my leisure time

I am usually happiest when I am having a deep conversation with a friend on a hot topic or how to "fix" the world. And I truly enjoy letting other know how much I appreciate them. We get that sort of encouragement far too rarely, I think that's sad.

The most influential person in my life has been

I think respect has to rank right up there. If you have respect for someone only good things blossom.

The first thing people notice about me

My smile. I tend to smile quite a lot, which amazingly not many people do.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I read "Persuasion" by Jane Austen. I've never read an Austen book before, but like all women am in love with her stories. This is about a couple who could've/would've been perfect when they were younger and never quite made it. Years later they meet again and both have resentment and hope. It's something I think most of us could relate to.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My friends, because they see the true me and believe in me even when I may doubt my abilities.
  2. The life I have made. It doesn't always work out the way that I plan, but I am on the road to accomplishing all the things I've ever wanted.
  3. My history. I have learned from every good and bad I have been through and am a better person for all my experiences.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I don't know. In many ways I'm an open book.

A little more about me

Honestly, I don't know. I guess, that my humor and personality fit in pretty much anywhere. I can fit into any social situation and, usually, have people laughing. I went to graduate school in London, a city that I love. Living overseas gave me a perspective on the world that I cherish; the education I received and the friends I made are priceless to me. But it also let me know where I needed to be, which was back here.
