The one thing I am passionate about...
I'm very passionate about my job. I enjoy being a nurse and love talking about my interesting or difficult patients or situations. I love helping others, and I get excited when I have to use my knowledge and skills to figure out what's going on with the people I care for. It's like solving a puzzle for me.I love learning new things and really enjoy teaching my kids. I love watching them try to figure things out on their own and discover the world. I love seeing them happy.I also really love being outside, and I'm happiest on the water. I love the beach and lakes, and wish I could spend more time there.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love spending time with my close friends, doing anything at all. We have great times going out to dinner, but also have a blast just hanging out together. I just enjoy the company of people who make me laugh, and my friends are the best at that. I also love being outside. I really love being on the water or ocean, and wish I could spend more time there. I feel really peaceful laying on the beach on a warm day, and also enjoy the excitement of water sports like boating and sailing. I also love just relaxing at home, cuddling up to watch a movie or taking a hot bath and reading a good book. It's even better with someone special.
The most influential person in my life has been
No game-playing! Honesty, and a recognition of what "dating" a mother of two kids really means.
The first thing people notice about me
Most people who tell me what they notice mention my energy and cheerfulness. Yes, I'm one of those annoying people who tries to put on a smile no matter what the situation. It's just who I am.
The last book I read and enjoyed
This is incriminating...the last book I read was one of the "Twilight" series, and I'm so ashamed to admit it. But before that, I read "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Piccoult (they just made it into a movie). It was really good and thought-provoking; about a girl who was conceived for the soul purpose of being an organ donor for her older sister dying of cancer. It raises a few important ethical questions (which I enjoy debating about) and really made you appreciate both sides of the argument. Very sad book though.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- I'm so thankful for my two healthy, happy boys. I know that some may consider children as "baggage", but I know that there is someone out there who can appreciate them for the good things they bring to life. I'm thankful for their energy, their vivaciousness, and their love of the simple things in life. I'm so grateful that they can bring me back to reality and remind me what's important in life when I think I'm having a rough time.
- I'm thankful for a great career that I really enjoy. I'm very passionate about my job as a nurse. I know a lot of people really hate their jobs, so I'm so blessed that I really like going to work. I love my coworkers and get along with them well; we have a lot of fun at work together. Even when it's stressful and busy, I can appreciate how much I learn and what I'm doing for others.
- I'm so grateful for my closest friends. I've been through so much but know that it's because of my friends that I am able to come out on top everytime. I feel so lucky to have a few really good friends who I can count on whenever I need them, even if it means calling them at four in the morning or showing up on their doorstep unannounced.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
That my feelings are easily hurt, especially by the people I love most. I put on a mask of humor and sarcasm most of the time, but I'm a pretty sensitive person underneath that.
Friends Describe me as
Creative, Energetic, Hard Working, Sweet
A little more about me
This is the first time I've done anything like this, and honestly I'm just checking this out. At times, I might be really slow to respond! I'm not sure I'm ready for a "life-long committment" but really would like to get to know more people. I've mentioned a thousand times that I have kids, and I know this scares a lot of people off. For this, though, I'm thankful. I'd rather not get involved - even casually - with someone who is really not ready for that. Howver, if I do meet someone here, it will be a long time before I'm ready for that person to be involved in my children's lives. I hope that's understandable.
