More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

living my life in a way id be proud to have my grandkids hear about (ok, there may be a few "learn from my mistakes" disclaimers scattered around in the telling, but still...)

I typically spend my leisure time

high intensity physical stuff keeps me sane, driving keeps me sharp, cooking and being outdoors keeps my soul healthy, reading/learning/creating keeps my mind evolving, watching the tube and killing monsters keeps me lazy (at times), and involving my son in in all of it (or involving myself in all of his stuff) makes me dad. beyond that, i suppose its the whole keeping a lookout for the right woman that keeps me hopeful.

The most influential person in my life has been

"i admire, respect, and cant get enough of her". toss in a healthy dose of like feelings returned, and the stage is set for all sorts of goodness.

The first thing people notice about me

the fierce intensity of my eyes when i see something/someone i admire or desire. same thing tends to happen when i get into a session of passionate babblings about my dreams and goals.

The last book I read and enjoyed

ive been a bit burnt out by textbooks and current events/politics, but my three or four currntly half finished books are a mixed bag. ive been on a h.s.thompson kick for a bit now (hes a madman with whom i relate all too well). fear and loathing on the campaign trail of '72 is about 2/3 digested, but i just picked up the gonzo papers a few weeks ago. absolute brain candy, but i get great kicks out of the fact that im not the only one out there who looks at the world a bit crossways.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. my son, my parents, and my best friend. the love, admiration, and respect that i have for them utterly defines me.
  2. the challenges that i've had in my life. ive learned more about life and who i am during the hours of struggle than in all my years of easy going.
  3. the future. its one bright and shiney mammyjammy and i have every intention of taking it for all its worth.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

the momentum of my life. its tough to pick up on that when you only get a "snapshot" of experience with a person. in my view, momentum is the product of strong ethics, raw determination, and a creative spirit. dont get me wrong, im proud of my gear, my experiences, and my accomplishments so far in life, but its "what comes next" that i expect would mean the most to people (particularly those who are trying to figure out whether to join me along the way). thats where this momentum business kicks in, heavy and hard.

Friends Describe me as

A little more about me

yes. everything. (in good time, of course...) in the meanwhile, its probably worth noting that i am a full time (as in 100% custody) dad to a 13 year old guy, im a 3/4 time student, and a couple of years deep into what could easily be called a dream job. im mentioning this because time is my most precious commodity these days, but its one i am more than happy to share with the right person. my collection of "me" pictures is mighty slim, so forgive me for not being able to whip out my portfolio from my last professional modeling gig (joke). if you dont have a photo on yours, do us both a favor and find at least ONE. gotta feel the attraction.
