More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Travel, reading, writing, entertaining, observing people, counseling/guiding youth, faith in God, visual arts, live music (jazz, R&B, gospel), socializing with friends, romantic encounters/getaways, intellectual conversations.

I typically spend my leisure time

Love to travel Love meeting new people and learning about different cultures Love the feelings associated with being in a secure, genuine, romantic relationship

The most influential person in my life has been

I am looking for a manly man who still believes women are one of God's greatest creations and should be treated as such. A man who is in touch and comfortable enough with himself that he can be expressive and passionate. A protector. Someone who will take the risk to go for what he wants. In addition to those character traits, someone well-spoken, well-traveled, well-educated and well-groomed makes my heart flutter (smile).

The first thing people notice about me

If smile is not considered a part of appearance, I would say my smile. Otherwise, I would say it is the sense of comfort in my own skin/confidence.

The last book I read and enjoyed

It's been awhile since I've had time to read a book (read more magazines and newspapers), but one of my favorites is "The Power of Your Sub-Conscious Mind" that outlines the impact thoughts have on one's reality and the importance of guarding what is consciously or subconsciously absorbed mentally.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. I am thankful that God has a sense of humor and does not hold me against me.
  2. I am thankful for having a close-knit family and a solid network of good people/friends in my life.
  3. Thankful for being born in this era and place where opportunity abounds and basic human needs are generally accessible.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I am interested (particularly in the opposite sex), but it may not always be apparent because I am an observer and in the beginning, I listen a lot to a man talk as a way of getting to know him verses asking 20 questions (I am always a participant in the conversation, however). Also, in the very beginning, I tend to wait for a man to approach me - we might catch each other's eye from across the room, exchange a smile, and steal another glance or 2, but if he does not take it beyond that, it generally stops there because I like for the man to make the bold move.

Friends Describe me as

Creative, Hard Working, Intelligent, Warm

A little more about me

I seek straight men only, not interested in alternative sexual encounters. I am reluctant to engage in long distance relationships unless the value proposition is reasonable (i.e. regular visits would not be burdensome). I am not interested in casual dating scenrios long-term although I know that all relationships start out casually. If your ultimate goal is not to be in a long-term relationship, let's not waste each other's time. If you have children under 18, it is important for me to know early on if you are able to balance parenthood with a relationship and the other demands for your time. I do not wish to have more children.

Music I like to perform

Gospel, Latin
