More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Stories. The words people choose to tell their stories, the themes and concepts that are woven into them, how we turn our experiences and interests into tales that can inspire confound or help us to connect with other people.

I typically spend my leisure time

For me, it's not so much about an activity, plan or location. It's more about the people I am with. Related to that, my free time is not so much about me, but connecting with others who share similar interests, are open to discovering others, and are equally happy analyzing the world, laughing at it, or figuring out how to make it even a bit better, compelling, engaging, amusing, etc.

The most influential person in my life has been

Broad cultural curiosity. An interest in the world around us - everything from lowbrow movies to high end fashion - and a desire to share those thoughts with others.

The first thing people notice about me

Open, inquisitive and playfully confrontational disposition.

The last book I read and enjoyed

OK, taking some editorial license here ... the whole 4th grade homework assignment thing is a bit odd, so let's go with some favorites. Amis - The Information, Fowles - The Magus, Ellis - Glamorama, Celine - Journey to the End of the Night, Perec - Things: A Story of the Sixties, Houellebecq - Elementary Particles, Salinger - Franny and Zooey, Mailer - Executioner's Song

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. A true appreciation for widely divergent perspectives and distinctive personal viewpoints
  2. Words, concepts and the spaces in between
  3. The ability to simultaneously challenge others and put them at ease, providing a safe space for them to express themselves and share critical insights

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Despite the intellectual leanings and intensity, I am pretty much a total goofball softie.

Friends Describe me as

Articulate, Intelligent, Passionate, Perceptive

A little more about me

Seeming contradictions that dovetail into something singular and perhaps magical. Kinda me, maybe a bit you, and probably an apt description of an us.
