More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I think I'm most passionate about the ways people grow and living out the gospel. God is always teaching me, and His goodness gives me a love of helping and encouraging others. Other perks: I love traveling, seeing new places. I grew up with lots of animals and love how they keep you very present in the immediate moment. As a literature grad student, I love to read and write- a good story is very powerful.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love to go swing dancing, salsa dancing, hiking, cook dinner with friends or curl up with a good book.

The most influential person in my life has been

The most important quality would be the person's love for God. It's also great finding someone who enjoys himself and those around them. Someone who has confidence in who God has made him and the ability to laugh at himself... and me. I am also seeking someone who enjoys exploring, whether through travel, conversation, or just heading outside. I realize that's not just one quality but it's tough to sum it up :)

The first thing people notice about me

Eye contact, genuine, warm, the hair can be a bit distracting too.

The last book I read and enjoyed

There's always a variety- I just started George Eliot's Middlemarch, and recently finished M. Scott Peck's People of the Lie. It was good but frightening read: a Christian psychologists perspective of evil the occurs in very normal people/families. I also recently devoured the Hunger Games, very quick but entertaining read, getting my young adult fiction fix.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. God's love for us as his children, and his gift of his son on the cross so that we could have a relationship with him.
  2. Opportunities to explore the outdoors with good friends and family.
  3. The little things- humor, dancing, hiking, good books, large bodies of water, great wine, beautiful scenery, did you say 3?

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Besides the fact that I love flowers? Nah nothing essential...
