The one thing I am passionate about...
I am very passionate about anything involving my children. I am also very committed to serving in the high school youth group at my church; I think of all the students as "my kids" and I keep in very close contact with them. I believe God brought me through the choices I have made (and their consequences) so that I could share the lessons I learned with others.
I typically spend my leisure time
I love watching movies, and there are several TV series I enjoy watching: Leverage, Psych, Criminal Minds & a couple reality shows. I like to cook with my kids, and we play board games together. We also play video games like Rock Band & Dance Dance Revolution.
The most influential person in my life has been
The man I am with will have to NOT blow up. I'm not saying control his temper - I'm saying he will not get mad or irritated or perturbed or annoyed (or whatever else) at the drop of a hat. And when he does get upset, he will not lose it. He won't yell or throw/break things. He won't insult me or my/our kids. He won't use shame or intimidation to get his way.
The first thing people notice about me
I am most often described as "loving". I have a great capacity for love and affection. I am one of those people that if someone brings my name up in conversation, other people say "I love her!". That sounds a little conceited, and I'm not ingenuine with my affection for others - I truly love and care about other people ALOT. God has granted me so much grace and forgiveness that I can't help but extend the same to others.
The last book I read and enjoyed
The Lovely BonesIt was about a girl that was murdered and you get her view of the world from "her" heaven. She watches her family and friends, as well as the man that killed her. It was very well written and was a great picture of how people move on, or don't, after losing a loved one.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- My three amazing children
- My church and church family
- God always guiding and providing for my family
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I guess I wish people thought of me as pretty. It's not that they don't, or that I'm not; I just don't think it's one of the first things people think about me. Growing up, my sister was always "the pretty one" and I was "the funny one" or "the sweet one". Not that there's anything wrong with that... I'd just like to know what it's like to be looked at that way.
Friends Describe me as
Caring, Kind, Sweet, Thoughtful
A little more about me
I have a chronic pain condition that limits my ability to do thinga that most people take for granted (like wake up and jump out of bed in the morning). I have not been able to work in almost a year, and most of my energy is exhausted trying to be what my kids need me to be. I tend to push myself harder than I should, but it is important to me that my children know that I would give anything for them. When I feel good I go all out, doing everything I can because tomorrow (and for a while) I may not be able to do anything.
