The one thing I am passionate about...
I love touring wine regions of Washington - expanding my horizons to Napa Valley is next on my list! I have a soft spot for all animals, and although I do like cats, I am more of a dog person. I enjoy being physically active - mountain biking, kayaking, backpacking, and participating in scavenger hunts and races with obstacle courses. I have a passion for trying *almost* anything---my adventure several months ago was hang gliding. Skydiving is next! I want to make up for lost time and start stamping up my Passport by traveling internationally!
I typically spend my leisure time
When not spending time with my friends, I like to explore and find someplace new, whether a new neighborhood, park, cheesy tourist attraction, or restaurant (you get the idea)...I just like to explore! I love to do anything active (going to the gym, running, biking, kayaking, hiking, etc). I LOVE road trips! Spontaneous ones are the best. I do enjoy down time as well - be it with a glass of wine, watching a movie at home, whipping up a gourmet meal, or napping.
The most influential person in my life has been
Someone who is genuine. There are several qualities that are at the top of my list, but they don't carry any weight if the person isn't true to themselves and others.
The first thing people notice about me
My smile - wait, that falls under the appearance category, doesn't it?...It would probably be my laugh. I've been told that my laugh can be contagious
The last book I read and enjoyed
Okay, this is probably a 'typical' book a female would enjoy, but I enjoyed Eat, Pray, Love. I am in awe of this woman who paid attention to the unsettling feeling inside herself and questioned if her lifestyle at the time was all there was to life. She decided to break free from complacency and travel to learn about herself. I identified with it in the fact that I too love to learn and grow as a person, and I strongly feel that a person learns and grows a lot when they are put into unfamiliar territory (in this case, immersed in different cultures around the world). Nothing puts life in perspective than exposing myself to new experiences.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- I am thankful for my health, as I am an active person
- I am thankful for my close friends. I love to help make their day and make them laugh
- I am thankful for all the experiences I've had so far in life
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I was about to type "That I'm awesome", but most people do notice that right away about me ;).. I am tougher than you think - figuratively and literally. Ok, well, as for literally, I do have a disclaimer on that: I went easy on working out during the holidays and I'm getting back into my routine of working out, but I've been told that I'm freakishly strong as recently as November. I'll be back into freak form in no time :) God help the person who runs into me in a dark alley! LOL
Friends Describe me as
Creative, Funny, Outgoing, Sweet
A little more about me
I love to create jingles on the fly - whether at work with my friends, coworkers, or when I sing to my pets. Carrying a tune is not my forte; however, I can rhyme quite well. I love all sorts of humor, including cheesy - my latest favorite is the Geico commercial asking "Does the little piggy really cry 'wee wee wee' all the way home?" Hil-arious. I can't help but smile when I see a dog. I don't know why they hit my soft spot so much, but they do. I have been known to run across the street to meet a puppy that someone is walking :)
