More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Loving God, serving Him and allowing Him to transform me. This is a lifelong process and I don't claim to get it right all of the time, however it's what brings me peace, contentment and joy. I'm also passionate about children and helping others. I used to be too self absorbed and worried about what others thought about me. I now value and care for myself but also strive to make a positive difference in the lives of those around me.

I typically spend my leisure time

I enjoy spending time sharing and laughing with friends but I also like some quiet solitude. I volunteer regularly at my church, read a lot, walk near the ocean, kayak, ride my bike and swim.

The most influential person in my life has been

Integrity. I think this value is underrated in our culture and that is a shame. My interpretation is saying what you mean and meaning what you say, honesty, being reliable, dependable, consistent, honorable...Don't get me wrong, I realize this is a high standard but want some who strives for this in their life.

The first thing people notice about me

My kindness. I like to be helpful or brighten someones day with a smile or word of encouragement.

The last book I read and enjoyed

"Choosing to SEE" by Mary Beth Chapman (wife of singer Steven Curtis Chapman) It's about her journey of struggle of hope after losing their 5 year old daughter in a tragic accident. It's very powerful and heart wrenching but also a testimony to the hope we can all experience if we choose to fix our eyes on Christ.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. God's grace and mercy
  2. My college age daughter
  3. Having great friends and living in such a beautiful area
