More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Entertaining, shopping, reading, listening to music, dancing and spending time with family. I enjoy going to church and good gospel music.

I typically spend my leisure time

I really enjoy entertaining - whether that involves cooking or planning the event. Everything from selecting the music to the decor. I enjoy bringing the right mix of people together. Shopping is another favorite leisure activity. I enjoy hunting for the best price. I don't like to pay full price for anything, I like to look for a bargain, but I am not the psycho frugalist. I love reading romance and biographies and autobiographies.

The most influential person in my life has been

Loyalty and someone who enjoys spending time with me. I want a man who looks forward to our next encounter/adventure. No, I don't like clingy and insecure, but let me know that you think of me. Loyalty is imperative. Be true to me. When things change, let me know...let's talk about it. But don't make a decision about my life, our relationship without me. Someone who will think of how their decisions will affect us - not just him, not just me....but us.

The first thing people notice about me

Charisma. Warm, friendly, easy to talk with and fun! Always smiling.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Unfortunately, I haven't read anything that wasn't work related. "Predictable Results in an Unpredictable Time" by Stephen Covey It teaches you how to stay focused during times of crises. Covey took the realistic approach. We've always been told to "keep your eye on the prize". He summed it up nicely.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My family helps keep me grounded. They love me unconditionally and always accept me no matter what.
  2. True friends. It only takes a few loyal, loving, honest friends to share life with - the good times and the not so pleasant moments. Nothing like true friends.
  3. Fulfilling work. Being in a position to help others, to make a difference, to support and create systems change to help children and families from my community and throughout the state.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

My sense of humor (not silly, but witty) often times masks my ability to be viewed as a serious high-level thinker. I have to push my way into intelligent conversations, but once I engage I can bring an interesting perspective..l.if it's a subject of interest for me.

Friends Describe me as

Caring, Loyal, Passionate, Respectful
