More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Don't judge me.... but, staying in shape. I'm at the gym 6 days a week. The endorphins are addictive. I simply cannot abide letting myself become 'jiggly'. I'm also quite drawn to art...I love to paint and haunt museums. I have my own little studio which is an oasis to me. Sometimes I can get into a zone in there that has to be akin to heaven. Reading, discovering, talking. I love bourbon. I love just sitting on the porch and watching the world go by. A day spent at the beach is never wasted.

I typically spend my leisure time

Oh my...well I do love to travel. One big trip a year, hopefully out of the country. I do also love museums (art in particular). Going to the beach for a completely carefree, relaxing day is bliss. As much as I can I'm in my studio with a drink or 3, some music, doors open and painting away.

The most influential person in my life has been

Personality. Sure physical attraction is important but it all begins with what I call 'the friendship attraction'. If you can make me think, smile and ruminate then you are in. If you make me think 'wow, I really want to kiss her', then all the better.Honestly, it is a twinkle that I cannot describe in words...

The first thing people notice about me

I'm sure my most noticeable trait is my smile...or the fact that I'm smiling more than most sane people. I am of the opinion that a smile is a very easy gift to pass on through out the day. I know I appreciate a smile directed at me.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Man...I read a lot. The last book I read was 'Sarah's Key'. That was a mournful tome about the French roundup of Jews in 1942. The only thing I really enjoyed about that was the descriptions of Paris. I love Paris. My all time fave authors would be Vonnegut and Henry Miller. But, like I said, this is too much of a discussion to be held here.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Health and vitality. I absolutely need the outlet of physical activity.
  2. Personality. I know that I am a bit of a challenge personality-wise but, I am so looking for a like partner. I need someone I 'connect' with. Sounds simple but, so hard to find.
  3. Spirit of adventure. Such a small amount of time here, so much to do. Make it crazy!

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That I am much deeper than I seem. Of course, that comes out in time. I honestly hope that most people have things (positive traits that is) that may not be overtly evident at a first glance.

A little more about me

I am an original. I could repair your car or add an electrical circuit in your house and on the same day create a stunning flower bed. I am a very good ironer if I do say so myself. Note: my friends and family call me Mark. There are bonus points for you if you read that...I am a romantic at heart. I have a VERY wonderful daughter who is off to William and Mary next fall. Oh, this is kind of important (I'm sure this is a show stopper for most): I'm taking the next year for myself...selfishly indulging in my long neglected art. Life if grand. Now is the time to share. I am a risk.... a risk worth the risk. I DARE ya!
