More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I love my family and my friends, I'm an avid coffee connisuer, and I love curling up with a great book (although I also love getting out for a real adventure). Museums, hiking/walking (but not running), yoga, and baking are some of my favorite things, but I'm equally happy to just get coffee and chat with a friend. I nannied for several years and I absolutely love kids, especially preschoolers.

I typically spend my leisure time

Spending time with people, talking with friends, being outside, baking, yoga

The most influential person in my life has been

First and foremost, it would be important for any guy to have a relationship with Christ that is characterized by a sense of honesty and a desire to grow. After that, someone who is a true gentleman but who can also laugh with me and be down-to-earth. Someone who aspires to be a man of God and who would likewise value and esteem my femininity and aspiration to be a woman of God.

The first thing people notice about me

I'm told that people first notice how approachable I am and my gentle spirit

The last book I read and enjoyed

"Some Girls: My Life in a Harem." It's not exactly an uplifting book, but it was a fascinating look into the minds of the women who end up in these positions. I used to volunteer with an organization that ministered to women and children leaving the sex-trade industry so this book really grabbed me and pulled at my heart. On a lighter note, I also thoroughly enjoyed "How to Sew a Button and Other Nifty Things Your Grandmother Knew."

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. The amazing friends I've been blessed with
  2. A supportive and loving family
  3. The opportunities I've had to travel, learn, and grow

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

It depends on the context. When people know me in an academic context, or as "the smart one" I often find myself wishing they could notice I'm a normal girl who likes to laugh, relax, and have fun just like anyone else. But when people comment exclusively on my appearence, I find myself wishing they would notice that I'm intelligent and have more to offer.
