More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Right now I am most passionate about fitness, both physical and spiritual. After that, new experiences whether from travel, conversation, books, movies, music, meditation, museums.... I am also passionate about working daily to make my actions match my beliefs and my words. And Apple products. And tacos. I really enjoy tacos.

I typically spend my leisure time

I like a lot of different things. Spending time with friends. I like working out or working on my spiritual fitness. I don't get to travel as much as I'd like (this shall change!) so I like going to museums, reading, movies. "Exploring the city" sounds so cliche but I enjoy it nonetheless. I'm constantly working on making my apartment my home. I just got a record player so I envision spending a lot of time in record stores. Really depends on my mood but I'm usually game to do most anything, esp checking out new music. A friend of mine recently hipped me to improv so I'll be checking more out. I want to go to the park more this summer.

The most influential person in my life has been

Kindness and compassion. Fierce independence and the confidence to be humble. A partner in crime that wants to live life to the fullest.

The first thing people notice about me

That i don't conform to their preconceptions...that or my lazy eye.

The last book I read and enjoyed

The last book that I couldn't put down was the Da Vinci Code. It really is not a 'great' book but it was really fun. My favorite books are probably Cien Anos de Soledad, Catcher in the Rye (just started reading it again), Beloved, the Autobiography of Malcolm X, Rain of Gold. Cormic McCarthy writing in Blood Meridian was great but I couldn't finish the book.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My family
  2. My friends
  3. My individuality

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I dunno but this seems like as good a place as any to say that I'm proud to be blaxican (father and mother respectively).
