More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I love cooking creatively, working in the theater, digging in the dirt in the spring. I'm always curious about other people- not just *what* they think about a topic but *why*. I read for pleasure, drink only tasty coffee and I enjoy many things of a geeky nature.

I typically spend my leisure time

There's always a band or theater show to see; I will also devour a book in a couple of evenings and I love yoga (even when I can't go as often as I'd like). Oh! And I can get lost in a kitchen for hours and be absolutely blissed out.

The most influential person in my life has been

Intelligence is key for me- coupled with the ability to communicate and tempered with a good heart. Be passionate about something- life's too rich not to grab it with both hands and dive in.

The first thing people notice about me

I'm probably almost as funny as I think I am. People tend to laugh a lot when I'm around.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I read a lot- most recently it was "Drood" by Dan Simmons. I love atmospheric, page-turning novels (also loved the Milleneum/"The Girl With..." Trilogy); I also just finished "A Brief History of Nearly Everything" (fantastic!) and I usually have one fiction, one non-fiction and one "esoteric" book going at once. Right now, its' Thoughts Without a Thinker, A History of the Black Plague and Full Dark, No Stars.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My family means the world to me- I'm grateful we're all here in Atlanta.
  2. I'm so grateful for the creative outlet I have in the theater and for the success I've enjoyed.
  3. I'm respected and valued at work; I make enough money to take care of myself and those (furry) folks who rely on me.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That despite my outgoing personality, I have a soft heart and I appreciate small gestures. I move in several social circles, so people are always suprised to find that I'm not "pure" geek, executive, actress, yogini, goofball or urban girl.

A little more about me

I'm really enjoying my life right now- for my "day job" I do good work that I'm proud of and I love working in the theater as my creative outlet. It's important to know that "actress" does not mean "drama queen". Working on stage and backstage means a love of art, reliability, creative problem-solving and patience. There's lots of things I enjoy- hockey games, live music, art festivals, couch potato Law & Order marathons, sweaty yoga. And if you don't have at least one or two songs on your iPod that you're embarrassed about, you're not embracing all the juicy goodness available. I have at least a dozen.
