More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I love my work, which involves studying a small part of the brain. Of course, it's the coolest small part of the brain.

I typically spend my leisure time

Hanging out with friends, reading, watching movies, driving to nice places (if possible), all the usual stuff. I also started running lately, and I kinda like it. I love walking around and hiking and camping, but i don't get to do that very often.

The most influential person in my life has been

I'm looking for someone to share all my favorite things with. For example: enjoying a glass of wine (without being a bit sketchy); camping (I'm too afraid to sleep alone in a forest with bears); cooking& eating (actually, food comes second to the conversation); watching movies (it's nicer to have two people tortured by the same artsy movie), etc.

The first thing people notice about me

I think people notice I'm smart, well read, articulated. Or they think I'm smart because I'm articulated? Or they think I know what I'm talking about because I sound well-read? A combination of these things, I hope :)

The last book I read and enjoyed

The last book I read was "The black swan", by Nassim Taleb. It emphasizes how important are random events in our life, and how much we tend to ignore them. The book is full of good examples that makes you see how little in life is based on a smooth distribution (wealth is not, height is, etc), and hence how much randomness there is that's impossible to quantify. But, the author sometimes had a patronizing tone that annoyed me a bit. Overall, a good, informative, not-perfect book.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. my family
  2. my education
  3. the opportunities I've had so far to live out my dreams

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

That although I seem all rational and logical, I'm also adventurous and love to seek out new experiences. In fact, I often reason that life's too short to be boring.

Friends Describe me as
