More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

While I'm interested in all the things mentioned in the side-bar (i.e., music, art, sports, family, faith, environment) I would have to say I'm most passionate about Ecology. (Not the "environment" -- that's a misleading term. There is no separation between our "environment" and us. That type of terminology is revealing of our attitude toward Earth, which is the root of our man-made ecological problems.) So, I'm most passionate about Climate Change / changing the way we do things so we're not causing it.

I typically spend my leisure time

Exercising / keeping physically fit. Reading (usually 2 books at a time -- one for learning / self-improvement one for fun / entertainment). And although I don't do it often now because of the geographic location in which I'm currently residing -- the thing I enjoy doing most with my leisure time is skiing.

The most influential person in my life has been

Kindness. Friendliness. Open-mindedness. Intelligence. An adventuresome spirit. Someone with whom I have certain things in common, but someone who is also different from me in enough respects that we pique interest in, learn from and provide "balance" for each other.

The first thing people notice about me

My thoughtfulness.

The last book I read and enjoyed

Siddhartha by Herman Hesse. It's actually about the 3rd time I've read it. The 1st time I read it was during a philosophy class I was taking in college many years ago. Besides the interesting theme and plot, the book has a certain intangible quality in the way it's written that I just find very appealing. It has a soothing effect; reading it is almost like listening to a mantra -- you feel like you're in a meditative state as you're reading it. It also has a positive message -- after a life-long spiritual quest bringing him down many roads and winding up at dead-ends, the main character finally finds the enlightenment he was seeking.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My health.
  2. The Universe taking care of / providing for me. Giving me exactly what I need when I need it most.
  3. Nature.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

My sense of honor & integrity.

Friends Describe me as

Creative, Hard Working, Intelligent, Respectful
