More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I am passionate about life and learning. I am an avid reader, love to cook, love museums, science, and the company of good friends and family

I typically spend my leisure time

I love cooking for friends and family. Sharing laughs, love museums, and good music. I love to read, needlepoint reproductions of the old masters, and dancing.

The most influential person in my life has been

Passion.....for life, for faith, for honor, for learning, for experiences, and perhaps me. I respect genuineness, kindness, and loyalty. Most of all, I want to laugh and enjoy the company of someone who equally enjoys my company and is tolerant when differences arise.

The first thing people notice about me

That no matter what life throws my way, I live with hope ,optimism, and an open heart and mind. I love to entertain and cook for my friends and family. Cooking the way I do, it is another way I demonstrate love and attention to those important to me.

The last book I read and enjoyed

One Ranger - the story of Joaquin Jackson (Texas Ranger) I love his strength and vulnerability all at the same time. His story brought back memories of times and events I remember well in Texas history and my own life. He is a man of strength, justice, and yet spoke so tenderly of his wife and family. His openness with his less stellar traits made him more heroic in my way of thinking. I appreciated his raw masculinity without apology. Some heros are flawed but heros none the less.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. The devotion, love, and kindness of my friends and family
  2. That no matter what life has thrown my way, my heart and mind are still open to the possibilities, wonders, mysteries, and joys of life
  3. each day is a gift from God

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Emerson wrote that the only true gift you can give another is the gift of yourself. I wish for others to not judge a book by its cover. We are all multi-faceted people and a gift to another if we allow that to be so.

Friends Describe me as

Affectionate, Caring, Generous, Hard Working

A little more about me

I appreciate someone who can see past physical beauty to the inner beauty. I didn't have anything to do with my looks - they are genetic - but I have everything to do with the woman I have become. I love wearing my jeans with pearls, and love playing in the rain with my grandchildren. I have a concealed handgun license and believe in individual rights and personal responsibility. I love classical music to country music. I love to two step and have a glass of wine occasionally. When driving (and time permits) I stop and read Texas markers. I love photography. I wake with wonder and excitement of the possibilies each new day brings.

I am
Somewhat Conservative
