The one thing I am passionate about...
I'm passionate about creating things. I love to host, create atmosphere, experiences or opportunities. I love to bring people together, make introductions. I love hiking, travel, design, stories of any kind-reading, movies, shared personal stories, or telling a good one. I adore those I'm close too-a long dinner out with my family or friends is as good as it gets. I'm passionate about problem solving and finding similarities rather than focusing on differences. I love finding humor in life. Love cause and effect, spanish style homes, cooking when I don't have to. Love nutrition, being active, dining out, good wine and better whiskey.
I typically spend my leisure time
1. I love to learn/experience/discover something new whether it's a new outdoor spot to hike, new restaurant or bar, new scientific theory, new way to work out, new thing about someone I know, new band, new store, new recipe, new place to travel...2. A great movie goes a long way. 3. Being social is important to me, and I love it. But I definitely need my alone time too. To read, go to yoga, take a nap, have a glass of wine, a bath, or just plain daydream.
The most influential person in my life has been
I'm looking for someone with a huge heart and an open mind. Someone who values relationships, is driven to be their best, and is confident in who they are. I'm looking for that rare combination of great friendship and great chemistry.
The first thing people notice about me
Most often I hear that I'm a great listener and genuine.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I'm currently reading Hilary Mantel's WOLF HALL. Her way of getting into a character's mind and sharing conversation and points of view is subtle artistry. I love a great historical novel, and when its magically written, it doesn't get better. It's a great way to learn and enhance your own point of view on a time and place or subject.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- I am so grateful for my family, both immediate and extended. I'm very fortunate to have close relationships with both of my parents and both of my brothers. I literally find all of them to be incredible individuals who I would want in my life even if we weren't family.
- I have such amazing true friendships that have stood the test of time.
- I've been given wonderful opportunities in life and also taught how to work for them. I'm thankful that I've been able to travel the world and have life changing experiences both at home and abroad. I'm also grateful for the challenges I've faced, things I didn't view as positive in the moment have ultimately shown me my strength.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I absolutely love words. Am passionate about language, writing, reading, travel, ideas, I love getting to know different kinds of people and learning about what makes them uniquely who they are. So ok, all that, and I'm definitely a dork, and will embrace that once I get to know you. Just going to be it out there so there's no surprises.:)
