More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

World events. Human justice. Helping the underdog and those who suffer. That my sports car is 100% ready for a road trip. Sunshine.Going to new and great places. Loving someone and sharing new experiences with that person.Football if there is a team I can get myself revved up about Great books and movies. Writing. Speaking..

I typically spend my leisure time

Reading. Road trips/travel. Exploring..Water at a pool or beach or lake. Movies. Reading the news. Music. Concerts. Going to a great steak house and having a Martini,...or two . Chinese and IIalian food. Late weekend breakfast. Sleeping in. Staying up late. Outdoor cafes. Dives with good food.Writing. Appreciating beautiful things of all kinds.Meeting interesting people of depth and substance and curiosity, and who like to talk about things going on in the world, even if they are not "experts" Observing national and international political theater.Plotting my next project or "get rich" scheme.Affection with the right person. Petting animals.

The most influential person in my life has been

I want someone who will constantly remind me of the beauty of life - kind and compassionate. someone who is intelligent, not in a bookish way or with degrees, but someone who is emotionally intelligent and curious about the world, who forms opinions about right and wrong. I appreciate good taste and style - AND CLASS - not the same as money. I tend to create chaos with papers and stuff, but I don't like it, so it would be nice to know someone who could tolerate my proclivity and yet help me keep it under control so that my environment is more soothing and less chaotic.

The first thing people notice about me

That I genuinely like people and want to engage them. My smile. Enthusiasm. I'm told my brain is like a popcorn popper with the lid off. Often complimented for something I'm wearing..

The last book I read and enjoyed

I am a voracious reader. The Icarus Syndrome. Like Icarus of Greek mythology who flew too close to the sun and melted his wings because he thought he could have anything he wanted our nation engages in one insane war after another because of a mindset developed during the last war. Sneak one in here: I would quit smoking if it mattered to someone I cared deeply about. Need to anyway..

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Knowing who I am at my core and feeling good about that. Having hope that my future will be bright because I have confidence in fully finding my purpose in life and making it happen.
  2. Being in good health, as far as I know.
  3. Having good true friends

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I'm naturally very friendly but at the same time private ( a test I once took had me as introverted as extroverted - with which I would agree) and so people sometimes tell me after they get to know me that they were surprised to learn of my depth, seriousness, spirituality etc. I sort of wish they knew right away. I'll sneak another one in here - I like to golf, swim, and ski!

Friends Describe me as

Kind, Loyal, Perceptive, Spontaneous

A little more about me

The previous stuff does it, I think. I never thought in a million years that I would try something like this, but frankly, and to my amazement, I simply do not meet any women that I am attracted to, yet in a city of 2 million plus people they've got to be out there. I've said to other people: aren't you worried about hooking up with weirdos? But it sounds like it might not be so bad. I have never had a problem knowing women who want to be with me. My problem is that I am very discerning and would rather be alone than with someone who I don't really want to be with. So - we'll see what happens. What's the downside? Guess I'll find out
