More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

In a word -- Dancing. Nothing teaches two people to cooperate better than dancing arm in arm. The woman simply listens to the music, moves her body in time to the rhythm, and is magically whisked around the floor like Cinderella.

I typically spend my leisure time

Leisure time....... well, recently I've rediscovered books and have read in a voracious manner. I also enjoy writing a great deal as well as researching topics of interest -- either for general knowledge or for a project. I don't believe that "too smart" can possibly exist, although I've met some that do. When it comes to "down time" or "me time" I really like sitting in the sand or on a fence or cliff and just listen to the seagulls play with the waves.

The most influential person in my life has been

A Realization that life - for all its up's and down's - should never be taken so seriously that you forget to jump in puddles after a rainfall, never lose the wonder of watching a butterfly get caught up by the wind, never lose the ability to smile at a puppy or kitty, and never forget that this is LIFE on Earth. No one gets off this rock alive.

The first thing people notice about me

Think back to all those old western movies where the cowboy walks into the saloon and the piano player quits playing, the conversation stops, and everyone turns to look at who just walked through the swingin' doors. For some reason unknown to myself, that's the way I seem to affect people.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. After traveling through a good portion of the world, I'm extremely thankful that I live in a country that has such an incredibly strong governing constitution. One forgets the immense benefit to such freedoms as Expression, the Press, and Worship, that Congress shall make no law regarding the Free Expression Of.
  2. I'm thankful that I'm alive as well as being whole and unbroken. I know many others who have been in the same situation as myself that do not have the same abilities as they did before that experience.
  3. I'm thankful for people who come into my life that are able to share views, opinions, and experiences that help me improve.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I'm not as serious as my "public personae" causes people to think I am. Yes, I am serious. Quite serious actually. But that is the result and product of the experiences life has thrown into my path. The majority of people living in the United States have never, and God willing will never, experience what I have just in this new millennium..But it's because of those experiences I am the "Go-to Guy" in a crisis. Remember John McClain in the original (and best) Die Hard film?!? Guns are going off, people are screaming, chaos everywhere, and McClain just picks up his pistol and calmly goes to work. Yippie Kai Yay.
