The one thing I am passionate about...
Music is the highest art form. Knowledge is power. Our relationships, not our material possessions, are what matter. These things I believe. Life is the ardent pursuit of our deepest authenticity, and for me, that means personal and spiritual growth, a commitment to learning, and universal respect. I have so many interests that I'll never be able to explore them all in one lifetime -- so I do my best to prioritize, focus, and have fun trying!
I typically spend my leisure time
In the past, I spent my leisure time figuring out ways to increase my leisure time. I've been fairly successful in that regard, and consequently am very happy to spend time reading, enjoying my relationships with family and friends, learning to cook my favorite dishes, keeping fit, hiking, seeking out the best live music, taking travel opportunities and whatever miscellaneous adventures strike me.
The most influential person in my life has been
Communication is most important. Being able to deeply share keeps a relationship fresh and exciting. Open-mindedness is also key: the ability and willingness to appreciate, or at least seriously consider, new ideas and perspectives.
The first thing people notice about me
I've been told that I'm engaging and positive. Another time a new co-worker who was an ex-Marine -- I don't think there is such a thing, really -- told me that even though I looked young, he knew I was the leader right away because I had the "gaze" of experience. Maybe I do, but I definitely get more respect with a beard.
The last book I read and enjoyed
I love it when books come along and give me a paradigm shift. The latest winner: The Singularity is Near by Ray Kurzweil.
The three things which I am most thankful for
- I'm thankful for my wonderful, supportive parents who taught me the meaning of unconditional love.
- I'm thankful for all the advantages that I had absolutely nothing to do with, like being born in America, etc.
- I'm thankful for being alive and all the wonderous qualitative experiences life entails.
The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me
I am not an atomic playboy.

Articulate, Intelligent, Perceptive, Thoughtful
A little more about me
I love anthropology, philosophy, and have a special affinity for ancient Mesoamerican cultures. Mangos are my favorite fruit. Border Collies will someday rule the earth, only to be superseded by the dolphins in a peaceful transition of power. That will be on the test.
