More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

Music, friendships, and helping others. I know it may sound cheesy or cliche, but I genuinely enjoy doing what I can for those less fortunate than myself. I'm very passionate about social justice and can't imagine being any other way! I work in healthcare, so public health and health policy are the issues that rank pretty high on my list.

I typically spend my leisure time

I love taking spontaneous road trips, getting out and enjoying the weather (when it's nice out, of course), and reading some great non-fiction. I also enjoy watching sports (go Giants!) and spending quality time with friends.

The most influential person in my life has been

Intellect. I enjoy having friendly debates on hot topic issues. I am a bit of a news junkie and think it is very important to know about current events. Someone who is passionate about his own opinions but is willing to explore all sides of the argument. Also, I can be a bit of a goofball sometimes so I try not to take myself too seriously and I hope you don't either!

The first thing people notice about me

Sense of humor. I love making my friends laugh and enjoy participating in friendly sarcastic banter!

The last book I read and enjoyed

I am a HUGE fan of biographies/autobiographies. It may sound crazy--as in why is she willing to share that with complete strangers--but Jane Fonda's autobiography was incredible! Go on, judge me if you'd like to but her insight into the social history of the last 50-60 years is intriguing and incredibly empowering.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Unconditional friendships--I have been very lucky to have the close group of friends that I do. I made a (relatively) spontaneous decision to study abroad a couple of years ago and met my best friends as a result. I don't know what I'd do without them!
  2. My incredibly supportive family
  3. Warm California weather :)
