More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I really enjoy the creative process and learning new things. Right now, among other things, I'm learning French which is very challenging! I enjoy the beauty in art, music, nature and even technology. I'm drawn to simple pleasures like watching a really good movie, viewing a fantastic painting or just experiencing nature out in the wildnerness. I sincerely believe that I should leave this world having put more into it than having taken away from it. I think the how and what will be my life's journey. And, last but not least, Cricket!

I typically spend my leisure time

There isn't much time during the week, but I usually spend 2-3 evenings playing squash, practicing yoga, learning french and working out. The weekends is a mixed bag: Hiking, reading, trying a new restaurant with friends, catching up on french homework, tooling around with my guitar (I'm not terribly good), and talking to family and friends There is so much to do and so little time! But I'm always up for something new :-)

The most influential person in my life has been

Openness. A sense of adventure about life. A loving nature.

The first thing people notice about me

I've often been told that I'm very down to earth, though I'm not sure why. :-) I'll leave that one for others to decide.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I have a weakness for epic fantasy novels, like the Lord of the Rings. In fiction a few interesting books I've read recently: Sea of Poppies, White Tiger, Midnight's Children, Life of Pi (reading now). I think the Indian theme means I must be missing my homeland. :-). Non fiction: I'm currently reading more about wild foods and plant identification.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. My friends and family. You are born with a family, but you accumulate friends over a lifetime. Your family teaches you how to love someone regardless of their personality. Your friendships allow you to love by choice. Both bonds teach you different ways to love people.
  2. The opportunities in my life. I was most fortunate to be born to a wonderful family, to grow up in a wonderful place and to have the chance to live out my life and pursue my dreams as I see fit.
  3. Beautiful Mother Nature. I marvel at the wonders of this world and am so thankful that this crazy thing called life actually exists, in all its forms. I am grateful that there are so many mysteries and adventurous experiences to be had everyday.

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

I thought about this question and couldn't really come up with anything. I think I don't really have anything that I wish people would notice about me straight away. I like interacting with people one on one and figure that they will gradually see who I am. What's the rush? :-)

Friends Describe me as

Caring, Easy-Going, Funny, Intelligent

A little more about me

I love to travel. I grew up in India, studied and worked in the US and have traveled to a few countries. Seeing different perspectives by experiencing different cultures has been invaluable to me and has made me who I am. If I could I would be a global citizen. I guess this outlook is important to me and one that I would like to share with my partner.
