More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I have a keen interest in the human condition (what drives us and why). Aside from that: music, movies, mixed martial arts (UFC), football, politics, philosophy, professional wrestling (it's staged entertainment, that's all), all things fantasy (RPGs mainly, but it varies), video games (PC gaming, in particular), dogs, and technology. That's about it, but I can hold an interest on just about anything.

I typically spend my leisure time

I enjoy the standard things that everybody enjoys doing on the weekends (hitting bars/clubs and hanging out with friends), with that aside, I do particularly enjoy the internet (for whatever reason at the time) and gaming. These two things burn up most of my "leisure" time. When I'm in a relationship, this stuff is minimized to make sure I have as much time available to the person I'm with. Small sacrifices for a greater good. A balance establishes over time, though.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. Life. Whether it be because of a religious or scientific reason - it doesn't matter. Mere existence in this daily craziness of our world matters more than anything else. Denial of this upon anyone is the gravest of offenses. This notion doesn't make me anti-abortion or against the death penalty or a pacifist. There is usually no clear "right" or "wrong" - just many shades of gray that we must do our best to cope with in making our choices. We must do our best, every day, and try to carve a nice niche out of this world that we can be proud of before we pass on.
  2. Love. To have life without love is almost not worth living. It would make us no better than the beasts. We must strive to find the things in this world that are dearest to our hearts and care for them. This can be a partner, family, friends, or a cause to which we undertake. All these things matter in varying degrees, but the end result is usually the same: what do we really care for most and what can we do to maximize our feelings toward it?
  3. Liberty. Thankfully, I was born in a world that is generally stable and most people can live without fear of having their base freedoms taken away. There are parts of this world that will almost never change, regardless of what is done, but it still shouldn't stop us from spreading messages of a better life. The choice may not always be their's, but we should strive to make it so. EVERYBODY deserves a voice in some capacity. Let it be heard.
