More about me

The one thing I am passionate about...

I tend towards moderation in most things, but I am passionate in my belief that the arts and culture create a well-rounded human being. There's room for high-brow and low-brow in each of us.

I typically spend my leisure time

After work or a long day, I like to relax by watching some TV with dinner, then playing WoW for a couple hours. I enjoy shopping, movies, and occasionally going out with friends on the weekends. I'm very open to sharing my partner's interests, but I need a quiet environment on a regular basis to relax and recharge.

The most influential person in my life has been

Someone who is kind and affectionate, strong and intelligent, and who won't try to fix me

The first thing people notice about me

If I think something is funny, I laugh out loud. Exuberantly. Sometimes there's clapping or leg slapping involved.

The last book I read and enjoyed

I finished "Bullet", the newest book from the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. I actually didn't like this one as much as some of her past books. The story line took some major leaps and turns. I think they're good leaps and turns, but I also feel like there should have been another book so it wouldn't seem so abrupt. The next book I want to read is "Power Plays: Shakespeare's Lessons in Leadership and Management" by Tina Packer. I had the opportunity to meet her, and she's a brilliant arts administrator, and very sharp lady. I think the book will be very interesting.

The three things which I am most thankful for

  1. having family who loves and cares about me, but lets me make my own mistakes and gives me room to live my own life
  2. the opportunities that my education has afforded me
  3. a really good red wine

The one thing I wish MORE people would notice about me

Just because I'm talking to you doesn't mean I'm not shy, and if you wait a while the barriers will come down. Eventually.

Friends Describe me as

Affectionate, Hard Working, Intelligent, Loyal

A little more about me

I'm full of contradictions, but never a hypocrite. I'm very high maintenance, but very loyal and generous and giving. I can be very reserved until I get to know someone, then I'm about as subtle as a bull in a china shop. I'm prone to alternating bouts of logic and whimsy. Also, I really wanted to fit "shiny" somewhere in this profile, but just couldn't make it work.

I am
Somewhat Liberal
